From 6th to 12th September 2020, Yarra Primary School will be taking part in the National eSmart Week!
National eSmart Week is held annually by the Alannah and Madeline Foundation to recognise and promote the smart, safe and responsible use of digital technology.
From 6th to 12th September 2020, Yarra Primary School will be taking part in the National eSmart Week. Throughout the week, students across Prep to 6 will engage in conversations within their homerooms around the importance of being safe and responsible while online, and families are strongly encouraged to have these discussions with the children at home as well!
Students from Prep to 2 are invited to attend a Storytime Webinar: The Fabulous Friends Machine on Thursday 10th September from 9:15-9:30am via a Microsoft Teams link.
The Years 3 to 6 students will be participating in a Digital Workshop – The 3C’s – Contact, Conduct and Content on Friday 11th September (Years 3 and 4) and Tuesday 15th September (Years 5 and 6). Students can also partake in an additional “Webcursion” on Thursday 10th September from 2:45-3:00pm, where they will explore students’ digital wellbeing in the online and offline world using fun and interactive games.
The Alannah and Madeline Foundation have also organised a free webinar via Zoom for parents “Managing the Coronacoaster” at 7pm on Wednesday 9th September. This session will be held by child psychologist Dr. Michael Carr-Gregg, in which he will be sharing his tips on managing parent wellbeing and building resilience. You do not have to register for this webinar.
