Homework should be challenging for students, yet easy enough for your child to complete independently. It can be an opportunity for parents or carers to participate in their child's education – being mindful the homework doesn't end up having too much parent input. Homework is meant to be an extension of what has been learnt at school, complementing and reinforcing ideas and concepts studied.
Please talk to your child's teacher if they are finding the homework too difficult or to simply discuss any problems they may be experiencing with their homework – it should be enjoyable, and not overly demanding on family or social time.
